Tree made good machines but you will find it tough to find parts and even tooling (collets, etc) is tough to find. The ones i have seen used double angle collets that are not that commonplace anymore.. With Bridgeports being so common and cheap these days, im not sure id go with a tree unless it was very inexpensive. Where are you located? Perhaps machinery isnt too common in your area?

Hi Jeff
Thank's for your reply, I had posted a wanted ad on Craigs List and had a number of replies. I had a person contact me aboutTree that sounds like a very nice machine. It has been in storage for the last 28 years. And had 1 owner. It is a single ph. unit. I have a list of whats included as well as pictures ,but they want $3500. I also found a 92 Bridgeport 1 servo drive .$5,000.00 in very nice condition. Its in detroit. That price is delivered to my home in Wi..

Both sound high to me. Should be no shortage of Bridgeports in the Detroit area. Here in the north east a nice 70s vari speed bridgeport with power feed is typically around $1500-2000. Nice DRO would add a bit.
Single phase isnt really a concern with low cost VFD's available now a days.
As for delivery, I have often had machines delivered by tow truck drivers with flat/tilt beds. They typically are around $75/hr and can lower the machine with the winch right into a garage.

And, Bridgeports shouldn't be scarce in Wisconsin either. Too maany machine shops in distress throughoput the rust belt.
